Our material technicians are equipped and skilled to prepare polished thin sections of various rock samples for petrographic studies. Some of the common materials we work with include concrete or cement, aggregate, meteorite, ceramic sherds, proppant, soil, and all different types of rock. We will prepare beautiful petrographic slides from your samples to your exact specifications. Standard thin sections are 30 microns thick, but different thicknesses are available upon request. We offer microprobe polishing, impregnation, and staining services as well, so you can see exactly what your sample is made of. Sample material should be individually wrapped and labelled and include a spread sheet with your samples, numbering each sample and labeling them for engraving purposes (not longer than 9 characters). Orders submitted without a spreadsheet are subject to a list fee of $1.00 per sample.
